Obituary for Dorothy Bradshaw

Life Reflection

Dorothy Bradshaw born on April 13, 1930 in Salters, SC to the late Martha McClary and Lee Bell McClary. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Matthew; a sister, Leila McClary, and a great niece, Sharonica McClary.

Dorothy attended the public schools of Williamsburg County, graduating from Williamsburg County Training School (now known as C E Murray High School).

Dorothy was a lifetime member of Union Baptist Church. She worked diligently in the church as an Usher, a member of the Women's Ministry, member of the Missionary Department, and the Sunday School Department.

While Dorothy lived in Philadelphia, she worked for Philadelphia Electric as a Telephone tech for over 30 years.

Dorothy loved cooking, taking care of the family, traveling, and most of all, she loved her church.

Dorothy's gentle, giving, and loving spirit will forever be remembered in the hearts of those who love her most.

Those left to cherish her precious memories are a son, Gary Matthew McClary of Atlanta Ga.; two stepdaughters, Jacqueline Bradshaw, of Philadelphia, Pa., and Betty Staggers, of Greeleyville, SC; Her caregiver, Deacon Charlie (Ella) Starling, of Salters, SC; A sister, Venice McClary, of Johns Island, SC.; One granddaughter, Melina Lara of Atlanta, Ga., One grandson, Eshion McClary of Kingstree, SC.; two nieces, Joanne McClary-Kearse, of Atlanta Ga., and Beverly McClary of Santa-Barbara, California;
two great nieces, Sharita Fisher of Las Angeles California and Faiyona Ponder, of Atlanta, Ga.; two great-great nieces, Ella-rae Cooper and Ellana Cooper of Atlanta, Ga., three great nephews, Michael (Cheryl) Cooper and Andrea White, both of Atlanta, Ga., and Quinton McClary of Kingstree, SC.; two Brothers-in-laws, Christopher Bradshaw of
Greensboro, N.C., and Ranson Bradshaw of Philadelphia, Pa. A special cousin, Eloise Williams of Salters, SC.
