Obituary for Mack Wright

Mack Henry Wright, Sr. was born on August 5, 1945 to the late Queen Mitchell Wright and Sterick Wright, Sr. in Kingstree, South Carolina.
Mack was a 1966 graduate of Blakely High School in Salters, South Carolina. Mack furthered his education at Denmark Technical College in Denmark, South Carolina by completing several vocational programs. It was there in which he met Lula Kinlaw of Georgetown, South Carolina. Shortly thereafter, Mack and Lula were married, and this union blessed them with three children.
Though always remembered for his meek and mild temperament, Mack will be recalled by the community, and loved ones, as the man who had many talents. He was known for his vast knowledge in many areas. However, it was his love for automobiles that captured his heart and blazed his career path. Mack was an Automotive Specialist for over forty years, and in his final sixteen years of life, was employed by the State of South Carolina at Santee Wateree Regional Transportation Authority in Sumter, South Carolina. Mack’s gifts, talents, and generosity will be deeply missed by the community and those who loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Lula of the home; two sons, Frederick Wright, Andrews, SC, and Mack Wright, Jr., Greenbelt, Maryland; one daughter, Alexis Wright DuBose (Shane), Florence, SC; six sisters, Dr. Barbara Wright-Bruce, Queen Evans, Angela Forney, Yerly Sherrill, and Marva Cherry; three brothers, King Wright, Cleveland Wright, and William James Wright; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren of whom he adored; and a host of In-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
